Whenever you go out to the beach are you always complimented on how well you wear a bikini? Do you enjoy wearing different kinds of swimsuits to see how they look on your body? Then you may want to think about becoming a model. There is a large audience and growing need for women who look good in beachwear fashion.
If you have already given it some thought but are not sure about how to go about it, here are a few suggestions. First, make sure your confidence level is up to par. Remember you will be modeling outfits in front of strangers who will be gawking and staring at every inch of your body. Don't take the long looks too personally. Most of it is just sizing you up to see if you could be a good candidate at modeling other fashion designers' wares. A lot of it will be admiring your body wearing that certain micro bikini.
Take many photos of yourself wearing different bikinis. Make sure you have photos of yourself wearing bathing suits of every color so scouts can see your skin tone next to it. Circulate those photos on places like MySpace, Facebook, Twitter or even video yourself on YouTube. You can hire yourself an agent or manager to help book engagements for you and provide them with links to your pictures online. Tell them you want help entering swimsuit competitions, and together you can cover as much ground as possible.
Exercise and eat healthy. You'll want to maintain your sexy bikini body so you'll be available to slip into any kind of outfit at a moment's notice. Keep snacks down to a minimum and try to stay as active as you can when you're not out on a picture or video shoot.
Go to many outdoor functions and circulate a business card with links to your photos. That way you don't have to carry around a portfolio everywhere you go. Be engaging, personable, bubbly and charming when you go to events where you could meet people in the swimsuit modeling business or fashion industry that could be great contacts.
Don't give up. It's going to take time to get your name circulated but once it's out there and you have made a popular name for yourself, the calls won't stop coming in. Remember the competition is fierce but if you look at it as something that's fun and entertaining, you won't even flinch at those other girls. Good luck.
